United Voices Choir is celebrating spring with a program featuring Mozart’s Great Mass in C minor, K. 427 and Schubert’s Mass in A-flat major, D. 678. Performances take place at St. Andrew’s–Wesley United Church on May 9 at 2 pm and Pacific Spirit United Church on May 10 at 7 pm.

Mozart’s monumental 1783 Mass draws on Baroque brilliance and the dramatic flair of Italian opera, with soaring arias, powerful choruses, intricate fugues, and richly textured orchestration. Schubert’s 1822 Mass offers a contrasting but equally compelling vision; deeply poetic and emotionally charged, it weaves soloists and choir into a glowing tapestry of sound. More than two centuries later, these transcendent works continue to feel fresh, uplifting, and deeply moving.

Five exceptional soloists—sopranos Dory Hayley and Rachel Suzanne, countertenor Erik Kallo, tenor Mark De Silva, and baritone David Rosborough—will join the choir and orchestra for this concert.

Tickets are available through United Voices Choir.
