Bask in the gentle glow of electric candles as the Vancouver Chamber Choir serenades audiences with tranquil music in Christmas by Candlelight at West Vancouver United Church on December 12 at 2 pm and Pacific Spirit United Church on December 13 at 6:30 pm and 8:30 pm.
While Christmas by Candlelight won’t have any “one-horse open sleighs”, listeners will be treated to timeless classics like Robert Pearsall’s “In dulci jubilo” and Morten Lauridsen’s exquisite “O magnum mysterium”. Also on the program for this concert are pieces by B.C. composers Gerda Blok-Wilson, Christopher Tyler Nickel, and Chris Sivak.
As the performance concludes, audiences will be uplifted by the lilting sounds of “Love came down at Christmas” by the Vancouver Chamber Choir’s former composer-in-residence Matthew Whittall.
Christmas by Candlelight is a seasonal favourite, and always sells quickly. Purchase tickets and learn more about the show through the Vancouver Chamber Choir.
