You're the Top! brings the songs of Cole Porter to the Anvil Theatre, February 14

Anvil Theatre presents Michael van den Bos’s You’re the Top!, the Cole Porter songbook on film and live with the Laura Crema Sextet, on February 14 at 7:30 pm.

Experience a unique event celebrating the music of the Great American Songbook composer Cole Porter. Classic film scholar Michael van den Bos is hosting this special presentation featuring performances of Porter’s songs from classic Hollywood movies and vintage television projected on the big screen. The film clips will be interwoven with live tunes by the Laura Crema Sextet, which will be playing some of Porter’s greatest songs for the audience as a nod to the Broadway success he achieved with his music.

Helmed by Vancouver-based jazz vocalist Laura Crema, the sextet includes pianist Tilden Webb, guitarist Alvin Brendan, saxophonist Dave Say, bassist Conrad Good, and drummer Nino DiPasquale.
