Martin Sexton reimagines the Beatles' Abbey Road at BlueShore at CapU, October 7
One-man band takes on the iconic album before delving into originals
Martin Sexton.
American singer-songwriter and guitarist Martin Sexton brings his signature, soul-infused reinterpretation of the Beatles’ Abbey Road to the BlueShore at CapU stage on October 7.
Backed by incredibly deft fingerpicking, foot-tap percussion, expert whistling, and symphonic scatting, Sexton’s soul-marinated voice will lead his one-man band through a must-see performance of the iconic album in its entirety. Listeners may never hear “Here Comes The Sun” the same way again.
After this dynamic Beatles conjuring, Sexton will perform a set of his own acclaimed originals. Over the course of 10 albums and countless live appearances, Sexton has proved himself a master performer whose baritone voice can fly into a falsetto without warning, and whose songwriting makes him a favourite of John Mayer and Dave Matthews, among others. He is able to move listeners from hushed awe to exuberant applause within a single song.
