New exhibition Golden Hour illuminates the Burnaby Art Gallery, June 13 to August 31

Burnaby Art Gallery will unveil the new exhibition Golden Hour with an opening reception on June 12 from 7 pm to 9 pm.
Used in photography and painting to illustrate the radiant effects of the sun when it is near the horizon, the term “golden hour” describes the way light shifts to warmer tones just before sunset and just after sunrise. This exhibition shares landscapes and light from multiple perspectives, investigating the cyclical nature of day and night, beginnings and endings.
Curated by the entire Burnaby Art Gallery team, Golden Hour brings forward responses to the collection from the perspectives of those who produce public programs, work closely with visitors, and maintain the gallery. Audio guides illuminate the works throughout the exhibition.
Golden Hour runs from June 13 to August 31, with a special performance by James Albers on July 27.
