Early Music Vancouver presents Les Jardins Chorégraphiques at the Vancouver Playhouse on July 31. The acclaimed Montréal company brings 18th-century dance to life in The Enchanted Forest, set to Francesco Geminiani’s vivid music.

Originally composed for a grand pantomime at the Palais des Tuileries in Paris—and inspired by Torquato Tasso’s La Gerusalemme liberata—the music will be performed by the Pacific Baroque Orchestra, conducted by Alexander Weimann.

Since 2007, Les Jardins Chorégraphiques has revived and reimagined dance traditions from the 16th to 18th centuries, transforming them into a lively art form. Renowned for its elegant choreography and playful stagings, the company offers audiences a fresh way to experience Baroque masterpieces.

Paired with Jean-Féry Rebel’s daring orchestral suite Les élémens, this performance blends music, movement, costume, and storytelling into a spellbinding spectacle.
