Killer Mike to headline Vancouver International Jazz Festival, June 29
Tickets go on sale March 14 for the Grammy-winning rapper’s concert, presented by Coastal Jazz & Blues
VANCOUVER INTERNATIONAL Jazz Festival has announced that Grammy-winning rap artist Killer Mike will headline its 39th edition in a concert June 29 at the Queen Elizabeth Theatre.
Tickets go on sale to the general public at www.coastaljazz.ca/event/killer-mike/ on March 14 at 10 am.
Killer Mike has both released numerous studio projects while also collaborating with big names in hip-hop like Outkast, Jay-Z, Big Boi, and more). He’s also half of the popular hip-hop super duo Run The Jewels.
“This is a huge show for Coastal Jazz. Killer Mike is a significant musical voice for these times,” Cole Schmidt and Jeremy Page, artistic programmers for presenters Coastal Jazz & Blues Society, said in the announcement today.
It’s the first programming announcement for the fest, set to run from June 21 to June 30, at venues across the city.
The fest will offer both free and ticketed performances, announcing the return of Downtown Jazz, a free concert series outside the Vancouver Art Gallery on šxʷƛ̓ ənəq Xwtl’e7énḵ Square, on June 22 and 23. Granville Island is set to be the hub for festival activity, with shows at Performance Works, Ocean Artworks and the Revue Stage. Watch Stir for more announcements. ![]()
