The Cellar Music Group presents the sixth annual Jazz at the Bolt festival at the Shadbolt Centre for the Arts on February 14 and 15.
This treasure of an event celebrates North America’s vibrant jazz scene with both established artists and up-and-coming stars. Performers hail from around Metro Vancouver and the U.S., especially New York City, providing a great variety of music that highlights tradition while pushing creative boundaries.
This year’s headliners include the Ralph Moore Quartet, featuring legendary tenor saxophonist Moore and a powerhouse lineup of musicians: pianist David Kikoski, bassist Peter Washington, and drummer Lewis Nash. Collectively, they bring decades of experience and exceptional artistry.
A pre-festival event, the Vancouver Jazz Orchestra with Champian Fulton and Klas Lindquist, takes place at the Shadbolt Centre on February 13. Fulton is a gifted American jazz pianist and vocalist who has released 18 albums, her latest being with Swedish altoist and clarinetist Lindquist.
