Vancouver Bach Family of Choirs and Vancouver Civic Theatres present Silent Movie Mondays: A Special Edition in honour of the 100th anniversary of Phantom of the Opera. The show will take place at the Orpheum on October 27 at 8 pm.
This spectacular celebration of the iconic 1925 silent film features a score by Canadian composer Andrew Downing performed live by a seven-piece orchestra, the 80-person Vancouver Bach Choir, and Michael Dirk on the Wurlitzer organ, all conducted by maestro Leslie Dala.
Silent Movie Mondays is an immersive experience where popular silent films are accompanied by dramatic music played live on the Wurlitzer organ—a historic instrument originally created to accompany silent films in the 1920s.
Doors open at 7 pm, and a pre-show performance by the Gatsby Strutters Jazz Band will take place in the West Coast Lounge.
