Trumpet star Chris Botti and BADBADNOTGOOD to headline Vancouver International Jazz Festival
Concerts take place at the Queen E. Theatre on June 28 and 29
TRUMPET MASTER Chris Botti and the band BADBADNOTGOOD will headline the Vancouver International Jazz Festival, Coastal Jazz & Blues Society announceed today.
Both shows take place at the Queen Elizabeth Theatre, Botti on June 28, and BADBADNOTGOOD on June 29.
Presale tickets for fest donors are at www.coastaljazz.ca starting tomorrow (February 28) at 10 am, and for the general public at 10 am on March 2.
Botti has become the largest-selling American instrumental artist, with four number-one jazz albums to his name. Most recently, his latest album, Impressions, won a GRAMMY for Best Pop Instrumental Album. Pianist Michael Kaeshammer is special guest for the show.
Toronto’s BADBADNOTGOOD, meanwhile, spans '70s soul-jazz, alternative hip-hop, and experimental electronica; Mary Ancheta Quartet appears as special guest.
The jazz fest has already announced that its 38th annual festival will take place this summer from June 23 to July 2, at a reduced, more sustainable size, offering a balance of free and ticketed performances.
Arooj Aftab, Vijay Iyer, and Shahzad Ismaily, and The Bad Plus have also previously been announced on the lineup.
