Jack and the Beanstalk
Jack and the Beanstalk, Metro Theatre’s 40th annual holiday pantomime, climbs onto the stage from December 12 to January 4, 2026, marking four decades of festive fun and family tradition.
Writers Shel Piercy and Jo Sears, the Ovation Award–winning team behind Cinderella, deliver a delightfully silly tale filled with laughter, adventure, and a touch of magic. When young Jack trades the family cow for a handful of mysterious beans, he sets off on a journey that leads to towering surprises, a fearsome giant, and a goose that just might lay golden eggs.
Featuring colourful sets, sparkling costumes, and the audience favourite “The 12 Days of Christmas”, this beloved panto invites everyone to cheer the heroes, boo the villain, and revel in the joyful nonsense that only Metro can deliver. Director Piercy and choreographer Shelley Stewart Hunt are at the helm.
An audience talkback with Piercy and the cast will follow the performance on December 19.
