Jeremy Dutcher, the only two-time winner of the Polaris Music Prize and a cultural ambassador from the Tobique First Nation, is making his Surrey Arts Centre debut on November 14 at 8 pm.

Dutcher first captured the public’s attention with his innovative 2018 debut album, Wolastoqiyik Lintuwakonawa, and once more in 2023 with his follow-up album, Motewolonuwok. In 2025, he received the prestigious Governor General’s Performing Arts Award for Lifetime Artistic Achievement.

With his traditional Wolastoqey melodies, daring orchestral compositions, and remarkable tenor voice, Dutcher evokes a spectrum of vibrant emotions. For this show, he’ll be joined by percussionist Stefan Schneider and woodwind multi-instrumentalist Naomi McCarroll-Butler.
