Vetta Chamber Music closes the 2024-25 season by gathering an all-star cast of musicians to play Haydn, Mozart, and Schubert, the grand masters of the First Viennese School.
Artistic director Joan Blackman shares the stage with eight other players in this celebration of the best of classical chamber music, including Schubert’s Octet in F major, D. 803, which is rarely performed because of its unusual instrumentation of string quintet, clarinet, bassoon, and horn.
Featured artists include clarinetist Jeanette Jonquil, bassoonist Sophie Dansereau, French horn player Valerie Whitney, violinists Blackman and Jennie Press, violists Jacob van der Sloot and Larry Blackman, cellist Zoltan Rozsnyai, and bassist Dylan Palmer.
Performances of Grand Finale Viennois take place on May 2 at West Point Grey United Church, May 3 at West Vancouver United Church, May 4 at Pyatt Hall, and May 5 at ArtSpring on Salt Spring Island.
Tickets are available through Vetta Chamber Music.
