Ballet BC returns to Vancouver’s Queen Elizabeth Theatre for TRILOGY, a season-opening triple bill, from November 6 to 8.
On the program is SWAY, a gorgeous piece of repertoire centred on hope from Ballet BC artistic director Medhi Walerski; a world premiere from buzzworthy Italian choreographer Sofia Nappi; and the return of the sensational 50-dancer BOLERO X by Shahar Binyamini, performed by a full-company cast plus 30 guest artists from Arts Umbrella Dance Company.
SWAY returns to the Ballet BC stage after its hugely successful company premiere in 2024. The captivating seven-dancer piece draws inspiration from Emily Dickinson’s poem “Hope is the thing with feathers”.
Nappi’s new creation marks her Ballet BC choreographic debut; featuring 16 dancers, it explores themes of divine play and human connection. BOLERO X, meanwhile, echoes Ravel’s instantly recognizable composition Bolero, gradually building towards a hypnotizing crescendo with breathtaking synchronization.
Tickets to TRILOGY are available through Ballet BC.
