Belle Spirale Dance Projects is hosting the 11th edition of The Dance Deck, its outdoor summer series, on July 18, 19, 25, and 26. In this Eastside Arts Festival co-presentation, acclaimed artists share high-calibre works at a grassroots level.
Program highlights include a rare chance to see virtuosic Ballet BC dancer Jacalyn Tatro perform a new piece in an intimate setting. Next is a creation by Belle Spirale artist Will Jessup, presented as a solo for fellow company artist Sophia Makarenko.
Connor McLeary and Devon McLean are dancing a duet created by McLeary. Vidya Kotamraju is presenting a Bharatanatyam work. Finally, Kari Turunen is conducting four singers from the Vancouver Chamber Choir.
Belle Spirale directors Alexis Fletcher and Sylvain Senez host The Dance Deck in the backyard of their Vancouver home. Performances are from 4 pm to 6 pm, with a by-donation bar and post-show dinner.
Tickets are available by donation. Learn more here.
