Little Room Productions, in partnership with New Works and the Roundhouse Community Arts and Recreation Centre, presents the world premiere of Fall(se) Circ(us). Choreographed by codirector Isak Enquist, the company’s inaugural performance work will be onstage at the Roundhouse on March 21 at 7:30 pm.
Fall(se) Circ(us) explores the notion of rebellion against everyday complacency through shifting cycles of work and rest, inviting improvised movement as a form of resistance. Rooted in the genre-defying fusion of Enquist’s formative experiences in martial arts, snowboarding, and contemporary dance, the work is set to a bass-forward, rhythmic score he created with fellow Vancouver-based dancer, actor, and musician Tyler Layton-Olson. Lighting design is by the award-winning Jono Kim.
Fall(se) Circ(us) features seven local and international performers, with the choreographer taking the stage alongside Eowynn Enquist, Tyler Layton-Olson, Mia Pelayo, Kaia Shukin, Alesandra X, and James Amzin Nahirinick.
