Royal Winnipeg Ballet returns to Vancouver this winter with its iconic Nutcracker production, presented by Ballet BC at the Queen Elizabeth Theatre from December 12 to 14.
Set to a gorgeous Tchaikovsky score, this charming, fantastical rendition of the classic story follows the adventures of Clara, her Nutcracker Prince, the Sugar Plum Fairy, and more timeless characters as they discover the wonder of a distinctly Canadian holiday—hockey rink and all. It features choreography by Galina Yordanova, Nina Menon, and Royal Winnipeg Ballet artistic staff.
Founded in 1939 and now led by artistic director Christopher Stowell, Royal Winnipeg Ballet is one of North America’s most historic dance companies, known for fostering some of the world’s most talented classical ballet dancers.
Nutcracker performances take place on December 12 at 6:30 pm, and December 13 and 14 at both 1:30 pm and 6:30 pm. Purchase tickets and learn more about the show through Ballet BC.
