With Halloween fast approaching, the Shadbolt Centre for the Arts is pairing a seminal horror film with live music at Nosferatu Featuring TAXA, October 17 at 7:30 pm.

Nosferatu: A Symphony of Horror, released in 1922, is a German Expressionist silent film directed by F.W. Murnau, serving as an unauthorized adaptation of Bram Stoker’s Dracula. This presentation will feature the performance of an original score by Vancouver band TAXA.

Andrew Morrison and Hieg Khatcherian (also known for his music with Deadsure and Damages) launched TAXA in 2012 to blend their love of noisy punk with driving indie rock. With Daniel Fedak on shared guitar and vocal duties along with Dan McVeigh on drums, the group is inspired by the discordant sounds of Unwound and the feedback-drenched howls of Sonic Youth.
