Théâtre la Seizième is staging Liste des enfants dévorés par les loups, a play directed by Cory Haas that’s as dramatic as it is funny, at Studio 16 from March 4 to 14.

Blanche has just had her first child. She spends her evenings listening to her baby cry and her days obsessing over the thought of something bad happening to her. Refusing to be remembered as a case of parental neglect, she has lost her sense of self. And when her friend Charlène, who is terrified of motherhood, penetrates that chaos, they must question whether friendship can survive the birth of internal violence.

In this abrasive piece developed through Théâtre la Seizième’s artistic incubator, award-winning playwright Caroline Bélisle explores the entanglements between femininity and guilt, depicting the paralyzing anxiety of our times—with bite.

Post-show talkbacks will take place March 6 in French in partnership with Radio-Canada, and March 13 in French and English.

Tickets are available through Théâtre la Seizième.
