The Vancouver Cantata Singers invite audiences to join them for In Paradisum, the first concert of the 2025-26 season AURUM, where the artists explore ideas of gold, choirs of angels, and the destructive powers of iron.

Imagine a golden paradise—a space of eternal light, a place of rest at the end of one’s journey on Earth. Paradise may also be thought of in the context of one’s being or the environment, both of which can go through times of duress.

The Vancouver Cantata Singers’s upcoming program highlights that theme with the Vaughan Williams Mass in G minor as a centrepiece. Additional works featured include Veljo Tormis’s Raua needmine (Curse Upon Iron), Eric Whitacre’s Nox Aurumque, and Christine Donkin’s In Paradisum.

The first concert of the choir’s 68th year takes place at Pacific Spirit United Church on November 1 at 7:30 pm. Tickets are available through the Vancouver Cantata Singers.
