Following four years of a successful In Practice program supporting professional development for dance leaders, New Works is now hosting its first full-day Leadership in Practice Symposium. It will take place at the Roundhouse Community Arts and Recreation Centre on March 22 from 10 am to 4 pm.
This Symposium unites dance educators, dancers, choreographers, and cultural workers who are curious about how their leadership can be more sustainable, inclusive, and responsive to the world. It is designed as a welcoming space for learning, reflection, dialogue, and connection.
The program will open with Starr Muranko of Raven Spirit Dance offering reflections on land acknowledgement in the studio, followed by three moderated sessions featuring Industry Thought Leaders: Naomi Brand (All Bodies Dance Project) with Kevin Jesuino, Kate Franklin (Modus Operandi) with Arno Kamolika, and Vanessa Lalonde (Luminesque Dance) with Amber Barton.
The Symposium is limited to 30 participants. Register and learn more through New Works.
