Vancouver Welsh Men’s Choir presents A Ringing, Swinging Christmas on December 15 at 7:30 pm at Centennial Theatre and December 16 at 7:30 pm at Shaughnessy Heights United Church

IT’S A RINGING, Swinging Christmas for Vancouver Welsh Men’s Choir, with two concerts remaining in its festive 2023 lineup.

At both performances, guest flutist Bernard Blary will accompany the vocalists. Blary started playing the flute at age 11 and has gone on to perform as principal flutist with orchestras across B.C. and with several chamber music ensembles.

At the December 15 concert, the VWMC will be joined by guest school ensemble Argyle Secondary and soprano soloist Melanie Hiepler, who was one of two artists awarded the choir’s annual student bursaries to encourage them in their musical development. The other, Deeandra Miranda, will accompany the choir in its December 16 concert with guest school choir Magee Secondary.

Leading the 50-plus-voice Vancouver Welsh Men’s Choir is music director Jonathan Quick, and accompanying on piano is Karen Lee-Morlang.

The Vancouver Welsh Men’s Choir presents a wide repertoire of traditional and contemporary choral music in four-part harmony. Its members must audition to join.
