Ballet BC welcomes back Canada’s Royal Winnipeg Ballet with the celebrated production of Nutcracker, bringing its distinctly Canadian take on the holiday classic to Vancouver’s Queen Elizabeth Theatre from December 9 to 13. With seven performances—including five evening shows and two matinees—the 2026 run offers more opportunities than ever to experience this beloved tradition.
Set to a gorgeous, instantly recognizable Tchaikovsky score, the story follows the adventures of Clara and her Nutcracker Prince as they face off against the frightening Mouse King and journey to the magical realm of the Sugar Plum Fairy, among other fantastical experiences.
Choreographed by Galina Yordanova, Nina Menon, and the Royal Winnipeg Ballet artistic staff, the production features 40 dancers in a spectacular wardrobe of more than 250 costumes, including 35 tutus designed by Paul Daigle. Gemini Award–winning scenic designer Brian Perchaluk transforms the theatre into a richly detailed winter wonderland, creating an enchanting setting for this larger-than-life holiday adventure.
Tickets are available through Ballet BC.
